ACCESS VERTIGO
Access Vertigo is an adrenaline-fuelled experience, the first of its kind for wheelchair users.
ABOUT ACCESS VERTIGO
Access Vertigo operates as an adrenaline-fuelled experience and the first of its kind for wheelchair users.
After the creation of the world’s first vertical restaurant in October 2023, Vertigo began development of an initiative that would open up this experience to many abilities.
Access Vertigo invites wheelchair users to experience Brisbane’s skyline from new heights. The initiative was built in consultation with Sporting Wheelies CEO Dane Cross and Occupational Therapist and wheelchair user Tim Lachlan.
A specialised chair has been designed using aircraft-grade aluminium to winch up thrill-seekers to the Access Vertigo dining platform. Participants can then experience a dinner atop Brisbane Powerhouse, before descending from the edge of the building after their meal.

BOOK NOWWHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
ARRIVAL
We ask that you arrive for your Vertigo experience 30 minutes prior to your booking time in order to arrange the appropriate transfer requirements.
TRANSFER
The transfer from your own chair to the Access Vertigo chair will be determined by your questionnaire. Vertigo is equipped with a sling for transferring from chair to chair in a private room or with the assistance of Vertigo staff.
ASCENT
You will then be winched up to the Vertigo platform, enjoying Brisbane’s skyline views as you ascend. From there, the chair is locked into place at your table and your dining partner joins you.
Your chair is safely winched to the platform (with an additional backup safety system) at all times and the wheels locked into place.
DESCENT
Once your Vertigo experience has finished, staff will unlock your wheels and ready you for your descent alongside Brisbane Powerhouse’s front wall. After your descent, you will enjoy a final toast at the bottom.
